Hello, and a very warm welcome to the new digital hub for the Dylan Thomas 100 Festival. We’re really pleased to be sending the website live today in advance of the festival launching this November. It’s the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people and so we really hope you like what we’ve created.
One of the main aims of the site is for it to become an online community both before and throughout the celebrations. In the coming months both the map and timeline will fill with information, not only from the festival, but also from yourselves. We want it to be a place where Dylan’s life, work, inspirations and legacy can be celebrated by all, in whatever way people feel inspired to do so.
For now there are 3 different types of information visible on the map; Points of Interest, Trails and Events. Very soon we’ll be adding other content types, such as multimedia, social media and accommodation ensuring that the site becomes the go to place for anyone interested not only in the Dylan Thomas centenary celebrations but also anyone with a passion to learn more about Wales’ greatest literary talent.
Probably the best way to keep up to date with developments on the site over the coming months is to follow us on twitter or Like our page on Facebook. This is where the most current information will be posted. You can also sign up to our newsletter here for regular, more in-depth information.
We’d like you to look at today’s version of the site as the first draft of the story that is going to be told over the next 18 months. New content will be added every day as the site and community develop, and we’d very much like you all to be involved in that.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all (albeit virtually) and I hope you’re as excited as I am about the next 18 months.
